4 proofs of trees. / 125cm x 152cm / newsprint 50g/m2 / Nov 2009
‹Tote, abgezogene Bäume›
For the ‹Kunstschaffen Glarus und Linthgebiet 2009› exhibition at Kunsthaus Glarus, I pulled huge proofs of cut trees in the forest. The exibition was from december 05, 2009 until january 17, 2010.
The stumps of recently cut trees have been cleaned, inked with handbrayers, and then proofed on large newsprint sheets.
It seemed important to me, to show the grown structures as growth rings, cracks and splits on one hand and on the other the extraneous cause of
the chain saw.
I pulled 10 proofs, moved them to my atelier for drying, then chose 4 for the exhibition. I hung them up behind 6mm glass fixated with nothing but
4 screws.
Please visit the exhibition until january 17, 2010.
