RAW & RAKED!
Record cover project for a Swiss band called ‹The Loops›. I did 500 record sleeves, 500 posters to go with the records and 1000 cd gatefolds.
The band came up with that title ‹raw & raked›. So my answer was that roaring and raking tiger. I added these splitfountains to the teeth and the eyes to make that tiger poisonous and zombie-like.
I printed the 2 splitfountains for the teeth and the eyes in one colourrun. I had to modify the oscillating cylinders on my press to print such short splitfountains (the eyes on the CD-Gatefold were about 1.5cm in diameter!). After I printed the 1000 CD gatefolds and the 500 LP sleeves in 2 colourruns each, I brought them to the diecutters. They let me run the Original Heidelberg Cylinder, which was great for me!
When it came to the poster that went with the LP's, I wanted to make another transformation of that tiger. That was the reason why I cut that poster from a lino-block. It was all handcut except for the negative type, which was lasercut in advance to be as exact as possible.
Please contact the loops if you want to buy one of these records.
