The 7-day short session is ideal for graphic design and poster lovers. Similar to the full session the workshop combines analog design and production tools with contemporary typographic poster design. It is the perfect opportunity for a one-week dive into letterpress poster design with Dafi Kühne in his vast letterpress studio in Näfels.

Each participant will follow an intense analog design process and produce a letterpress-printed typographic poster using a variety of production tools.

This intensive 13-day workshop is designed for international graphic design and type enthusiasts. The objective of the workshop is to bridge the gap between analog design and production tools and professional contemporary typographic posters. Participants will engage in a series of analog tasks to experience the layout qualities of type-only layouts. The program offers a valuable opportunity for participants to observe and learn directly from one of the few internationally renowned contemporary letterpress poster designers.

Following a rigorous design process, each participant will produce a letterpress-printed typographic poster using a variety of production tools, including physical type (wood and metal), chipboard, lasercut MDF, linoleum, hand-cast Ludlow type slugs, and more. The workshop will provide a comprehensive training in analog design and production techniques, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to seamlessly transition their work into contemporary (digital) design practice for their future careers.
